
Days of the week, months and seasons in Spanish
When travelling in Spain or any other Spanish-speaking country, it is exceptionally useful to know the days of the week, months and seasons in Spanish. Even if your Spanish is very basic, knowledge of these terms could help you to make appointments (both professionally and casually), have conversations about the weather and understand directions.

Days of the week in Spanish (Los días de la semana)
- Monday = lunes
- Tuesday = martes
- Wednesday = miércoles
- Thursday = jueves
- Friday = viernes
- Saturday = sábado
- Sunday = domingo
Months of the year in Spanish (Los meses del año)
- January = enero
- February = febrero
- March = marzo
- April = abril
- May = mayo
- June = junio
- July = julio
- August = agosto
- September = septiembre
- October = octubre
- November = noviembre
- December = diciembre
The four seasons (Las cuatro estaciones)
- Spring = la primavera
- Summer = el verano
- Autumn / Fall = el otoño
- Winter = el invierno
After reading this list of Spanish words, you should notice something important, i.e. the days and months of the year in Spanish are not capitalised as they are in English! Also, the Spanish week begins on a Monday.
Learning the months of the year in Spanish should be easy if you are a mother tongue English speaker. The Spanish months are very similar to those in English. A useful tip to remember is that each Spanish month starts with the same letter as its English equivalent (except January/enero).
